Fake Zebra. Original Idea.

A zoo in Gaza has used hair dye, masking tape and a paint brush to transform two donkeys into zebras.

Facing Israeli restrictions on the import of animals, zoo owner Mohammed Bargouthi decided instead to paint the white female donkey, delighting Palestinian children.

Bargouthi told Reuters that painting the animals was much cheaper than paying $40,000 to smuggle real zebras through tunnels into Gaza City.

FIFA Qualifier Update - NZ v/s Bahrain

New Zealand held an unrelenting but distinctly unlucky Bahrain to a goalless draw in the first-leg of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Asia/Oceania play-off in Manama.

Bahrain missed at least four clear chances of scoring while the Kiwis defended stoutly and emerged unscathed, with their goalkeeper Mark Paston the hero of the evening. Bahrain enjoyed better ball possession, dictated the pace of the match but could not find the target to give meaning to their overall domination.

The second-leg is scheduled for 14 November in Wellington with the winner booking a berth for next year's FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Meet Twisty Fleximan - the web contortionist

Here's an interactive banner I worked on, featuring Twisty Fleximan - undoubtedly the most twisted son-of-a-gun hanging around the web.

Go on... turn his arm, pull his leg, wring his neck, twist his ankles, no matter what you do to him... he just keeps smiling.

Happy 143, Mahatma Gandhi

Updated: October 2, 2012 - Happy 143rd Birthday, Mahatma Gandhi.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869 - 1948), commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi.

First posted on Oct 2, 2009:

On his 140th Birthday, here's a memorable Gandhi quote.

Today is Mahatma Gandhi's 140th Birthday. Anything I say in tribute to him would be stating the obvious. I'd rather this ad does it for me. It’s an oldie but a goldie.

This TVC features one of Gandhi's most popular speeches and asks "What if the great men and women of the last century had access to the communications networks of today?" The ad has a global unifying appeal. Just like Gandhiji's message - One World. One Family. Live in Peace.

AVATAR - the movie everyone's waiting for

In Theatres Worldwide December 18 - In this epic action adventure, James Cameron, the director of Titanic, takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination. On the distant moon Pandora, a reluctant hero - Jake Sully - embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.

Apart from all the buzz around its new state-of-the-art (clearer, sharper, deeper) 3-D technology, this is James Cameron's next big oeuvre after Titanic - his first narrative film in 12 years. Going by early reviews & sneak previews, AVATAR seems a must-watch on IMAX 3-D. Click here for the Avatar YouTube channel and here for the Avatar movie website.
